The 5 Food Nutrients that Detoxifies Mercury

An important part of my mercury detox program are the foods, beverages and nutraceuticals consumed on a daily basis.

When I was severely mercury poisoned, Dr. Dietrich Klinghardt* taught me about the five specific food nutrients the body needs to efficiently neutralize and remove mercury from the body. He told me I needed to consume ample amounts of these 5 food nutrients on a daily basis until I was fully detoxified and recovered. These 5 specific food sources are:

  1. Minerals
  2. Phospholipids
  3. Sulfur
  4. Amino acids
  5. Vitamin C

Using these foods in their best form is extremely important. Synthetic supplements are not ideal, especially for moderate to severely mercury toxic cases, as they typically have a more severe leaky gut condition and impaired assimilation and methylation. These cases are often accompanied with significant food sensitivities, as well. Synthetic supplements are usually not as assimilable to the body’s cells as are whole food sources and can cause imbalances and sensitivities. Following are the ideal foods sources:

  • Minerals: Raw vegetable juices made with lettuces; red meat, egg yolks, dark green leafy vegetables, nettle or alfalfa tea, meat/bone/vegetable broth, organic bovine multi-glandulars, sardines and anchovies (which are the only mercury-free fish left), blueberries, sprouts, raw fermented sauerkraut and raw cacao. Sea vegetables are an excellent source of minerals, but are often times not tolerated by more severe toxic cases until they have improved their leaky gut condition and food sensitivities.
  • Phospholipids: Healthy oils include raw nuts and seeds, raw nut and seed milk and raw nut and seed oils, well purified fish oil, coconut oil, raw butter, ghee (clarified butter), avocados and cold-pressed avocado oil, organic, free-roaming eggs raw (in shakes), lightly poached or over-easy (yolk left runny). You can cook with coconut oil and ghee, as they are not delicate oils that are damaged when heated at high temperatures.
  • Sulfur: Garlic, especially raw freeze dried garlic caps, egg yolks, cruciferous vegetables (brussel sprouts, asparagus, broccoli), maca powder and broccoli sprouts.
  • Amino Acids: Meat, sardines and anchovies, eggs, raw nuts and seeds, raw nut and seed milk, assimilable protein powder, lentils and legumes, the gluten-free grains: quinoa, buckwheat, amaranth; dark green leafy vegetables, raw milk kefir, raw fermented coconut water and meat/bone broth.
  • Vitamin C: Peppers, especially red and yellow peppers, berries, raw tomatoes, lemon and lime, broccoli, broccoli sprouts, dark green leafy vegetables, fresh peas and rose hip or hibiscus tea. Oranges and other sweet fruits should be avoided since they are high in sugars and feed pathogens.

Liposomal vitamin C is a highly absorbable form and reaches the brain cells more efficiently, which has antioxidant properties and also further facilitates removal of metals from the brain.
